Commercial Sector and Support of Volunteerism

In our country, it is harder to sponsor volunteerism than sponsoring the whole non-profitable sector. In general, sponsorship by private companies in the Czech Republic is hardly developed, mainly because of non-existing company culture and financial instability.

Current support from the side of investors usually goes into a large sport and cultural activities with international context that promise effective media coverage.

Thanks to the activity of several foundations, and some of the commercial sector members/representatives,  The Donors Forum was formed, that tries to identify possible financial sources and to motivate commercial sector to sponsor non-profit NGOs.

Financial support of coordination between volunteers and organizations still lacks participation of big  companies; but also sometimes for governmental sources as well. This is mainly because the public still comprehends volunteering as a reciprocally useful and beneficial activity that should not need any financial costs to be organized.
